Featuring an openwork Dragon in the Clouds within an oval border, white (very palest celadon) hardstone of high translucence and exceptionally even tone, two small natural fissures in the stone (at 4 o'clock and 10 o'clock positions) not affecting its integrity, two tabs at bottom for the custom fitted open scrollwork wood stand. The material appears to be chalcedony (very hard, H>6) imitating white nephrite jade. Excellent 20th century carving from a good Pennsylvania collection, bargain priced. Another view here.
